In the mountains, they say that "some of us were lucky enough to be born here and others of us got here as soon as we could." I am one of the lucky ones! I was raised in Hendersonville, educated at Mars Hill University in art and elementary education, and earned advanced degrees from Western Carolina University in counseling and as an Ed.S (Educational Specialist). I relocated to Yancey County after college, where I raised a family and proudly served as public school educator and counselor for 30 years before pursuing real estate full time. Yancey County boosts of ten of the highest peaks east of the Rockies and provides ample opportunities to indulge my love of hiking and mountain biking. I have nurtured my love for the arts and entertainment in and around the Asheville area all my adult life. But I also retreat back to nature as my personal therapy, as I work in my vegetable and flower gardens. I also get great pleasure in capturing the beauty in nature all around me through my photographs and watercolor paintings. I am avid lover of music of most all genres and am a lead singer in my church contemporary praise and worship service.
